Overview
I'm a Coach is a supervised gym workout app that helps users request personalized workout programs, track workout performance, communicate with an admin/coach, and manage weekly training progress. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.
Information We Collect
- Account information, such as email address and authentication provider.
- Profile details, including first name, last name, date of birth, height, weight, and optional body photo.
- Health questionnaire answers related to safe workout planning.
- Workout request details, including gym name, workout visits per week, equipment photos, and optional gym location.
- Workout performance data, including completed sets, incomplete sets, exercise feeling, time spent, weekly ratings, and weight updates.
- Chat content between users and admin, including text messages, photos, and audio messages.
- Notification and device messaging information needed to send app notifications.
- Subscription/payment status information for in-app purchases through Apple App Store or Google Play.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage user accounts.
- To help the admin/coach review user details and create suitable workout programs.
- To show workout status, exercise progress, performance reports, and weekly completion reports.
- To allow chat communication between users and admin.
- To upload and display photos or audio submitted through the app.
- To send notifications about workouts, admin messages, challenges, subscriptions, or app updates.
- To manage subscriptions and payment status through Apple App Store and Google Play billing.
- To maintain app safety, security, and reliability.
Photos, Audio, Camera, Microphone, and Location
The app may request permission to use the camera, photo gallery, microphone, and location services. These permissions are used only for app features requested by the user, such as uploading body photos, equipment photos, chat photos, chat audio, and gym location.
Users can deny or disable these permissions in device settings, but some app features may not work without the relevant permission.
Data Storage and Third-Party Services
The app uses Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Cloud Messaging, to store account data, workout data, chat data, notifications, and app records. Uploaded media may be sent through the app's upload API hosted at atefsahloul.com.
Payments are processed by Apple App Store and Google Play. The app stores payment status and related purchase reference data, but payment card details are handled by Apple or Google and are not stored by I'm a Coach.
Data Sharing
User information is available to the app admin/coach for the purpose of reviewing profiles, creating workouts, monitoring progress, responding to chat messages, managing subscriptions, and supporting the user experience.
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate the app, comply with legal obligations, protect users, or maintain security.
Health and Fitness Notice
Workout guidance in the app is intended for general fitness support and coach supervision. Users should stop training if they feel dizzy, unwell, or experience pain, and should consult a medical professional before exercising if they have health concerns.
User Choices and Account Deletion
Users can update app settings, change language, change weight measurement preference, sign out, or request/delete their account from inside the app where available. Deleting an account may remove profile data, notifications, workout requests, and related app records associated with that user.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children
The app is intended for users who are old enough to safely participate in fitness activities and create an account under applicable laws. The app is not intended to knowingly collect information from young children without appropriate permission.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
